Luftig was laboring to start when cold. Read some old posts and talked to Troy. He suggested a high torque starter might do the trick. Bruce and I drove to cb performance after checking their site. Pat Downs happened to be in and suggested the IMI 101. Bruce installs it. Laboring, cold starts all gone now. Pat says model 101N is what he runs on his 14 compression drag bug and that would be serious overkill on my tame 2110. Thought some of you could use confirmation. By the way, Pat turned a tad over 11.80 in his last outing. Beautiful ride also. Fun to be around this stuff.

Thanks Bob,, that subject has pop up here a few times I also would add it does not pull down your battery nearly as much as a stock Vw unit does.. Meaning less work for the battery and alternator.. If pat gives it a good rep it must be pretty good.. thanks again i add that to my upgrade list the next time I need one changed i'll get and try one

I got the one at the top of the link's page, the regular 101. There is no substitute. Japanese hi-torque motor, everything else American-made. I ordered it from my local auto electric place, paid a $20 premium. No shipping, and my local guy made a few bucks, win-win.
