This morning I drove my Speedster to the Hillsborough Concours d' Elegance located on the greens of the Crystal Springs Golf Course in Hillsborough, Ca. This is the longest running concours in the nation. This years marks its 68th year. I was chosen to show my speedster again this year, so with the wife on her adventure to Disneyland, I was up at 5:30 be there by 7:00am. It was chily this morning on the San Francisco peninsula with the fog rolling in from the coast. I had make a few things the night before to take with me while at the show. I warmed my homemade egg Mc muffin in the engine compartment wrapped in foil. I had a thermos of hot coffee and a few steak sandwiches to tide me over. They have food at the venue, but I like to take my own stuff. It was going to be hot later in the day so I also brought 8 bottles of water. I got parked in my non-judging area and got my chairs set up and watched as the 200 + cars showed up. I met up with a few of my cars buddies and walked the show. This year the show was featuring, Mustangs, Packards, Ferrari's and Miata's. There were other brands as well and some were one of one. I'll post some of the cars that caught my eye. Hope you enjoy !!

Great pics, Dave! Tell me again what KAUFUT means.
Say it out loud Mike.
I immediately jumped to German and imagined it was a special secret WWII vehicle that was discovered after Berlin fell... But, bathtubs are good, too!

Mike, I was working my dyslexic mind with a bit of German thrown in to say "Clawfoot" as in "clawfoot bathtub". As a kid, we always referred to the 356 speedsters as bathtub Porsche's. I always wanted one .......... Well, the correct spelling was too long and shortened variations were already taken here is California or "Kalifornia". So, I dreamed up "Klaufut" I'm just a simple dyslexic meat cutter barely able to spell. lol

Good call Ed !! That's how I roll, Kohler all the way ............
One of the 356's that was parked near me was rather unique. The man's name was Martin who owns it. We were parked in an area for modified sprotscars. So I asked him about his car. He went into great detail about the restoration but the motor was the big deal. The car is powered by a Polo Engine. The engine started with a 911 Porsche case and was reworked and welded up. The engine is the dream child of Doug Polopolus Motors, they are 2.5L, around 200hp and only 30 or so were ever built. Kinda rare ....
