Odd coincidence that Hines Drive is near me. It comes close to intersecting Beck Road.
"Winona had a big, brown beaver" Primus(very strange and different band)
They're the dudes that wrote the theme song for South Park, need I say more?

YIKES!!
X6 on the Yikes....I prefer Winona on Route 66
I sometimes like to predict what the major traffic source will be on this site a few weeks before I have the stats from google.
Well here is my prediction for July.

I'm not so sure about that traffic, Theron.
They say grass doesn't grow on a busy street.
Just giving this a bump. For the last two years, I've had a gathering at the Telegraph Cruise. Last year, we got caught in a really heavy downpour.
This is the weekend of the Telegraph Cruise, and it will be rainy off and on. I went out yesterday evening around 7:30 and it was great...until it started raining (more like sprinkling).
I'm glad I decided to shift to the Hines Drive Cruise this year on 8-24.
For those of you that don't know Hines Drive and Hines Park run along one of the branches of the Rouge. It's a scenic drive that is lined with parks. In the summer, they close it to car traffic on the weekends and there are lots of people out running, biking, etc. It's a park, so no businesses or residences along the route.
It also has a reputation for flooding. One morning on the traffic report on the radio they reported that Hines Drive was not flooded today.
The park is basically a creative use for a flood plain.
A couple of blocks from me is lower Rouge. I'm high above it, but there is a public golf course next to it that has the same flood characteristics.
This year, they've changed the cruise to be a one-way flow starting at the eastern end, which is near my house. The western exist to the cruise is probably 15 minutes from my house. The actually cruise will probably take about 30 with cruise traffic on Hines.

The idea would be similar format as prior years. Meet at my house around 3, meet, check out our cars, go for a cruise, come back, eat and drink beer.
Please give me an indication if you think you can make it.
I CAN'T MAKE IT
I think I can.
Just bumping this up. The 24th is coming soon.
This year's Telegraph cruise turned out to be pretty great weather. The Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Club was invited to park at the new Volkswagen dealership that is in walking distance to my house. I didn't know if I would be welcome, but was. The dealership had free food for us and a great parking spot on the berm overlooking Telegraph in front of the dealership. Next year, I all budget more time and hang out there. It's a great place to watch the cruise. Something for the Michigan locals to consider for next year.
The Hines cruise is next up on Sunday the 24th. Michael is the only person who has expressed interest. Anybody else?
Bumping this for the last time. The only tentative interest I've had is Michael McKelvey and Bill Demeter. I'm thinking about dialing it back to cruising and beverages this year and hanging out in the late afternoon.
My thought was to meet at my house at 3:30, go for the cruise and then hang out after.
Long range forecast is 82 and partly sunny.
Please let me know if you're interested.
Every time I see this my first thought is that Carey is planning something in northern Indiana. Sorry Tom, but that's a bit far for me.
