Gordon,

My good friend in Hartford Ct had his 245 wagon also converted to a Mustang 5.0 HO by Converse in Southern Maine. I was at his shop and he had various Volvo's under conversion. Newmans was a brand new Volvo with a supercharged 5.0, probably well over 300hp. Nothing external on the car to signify anything differant, classic sleeper. Converse did Newmans car also. His shop was his 3 car garage, a true cottage industry.

A few years back, I was heading in toward Boston on I-90 and was passed by Paul in that Volvo Wagon and, as you said, there is absolutely no outside indication that it's not stock. He ended up getting stuck behind someone in the passing lane and was right beside me for maybe 30 seconds, then a hole opened up in front and he gave me a wave and accelerated like a shot....

Can you imagine a State Cop pulling it over to find him inside??
One of the guys in Aerosmith seems to use the stretch of route 3A from Marshfield to Scituate as his field of honor. I have a handful of friends who have run rabbit with him on that road, but none of them have come close to matching or catching him. TVR's are no match for his Ferrari.
