Jim Ignacio, the founding father of logical disputation. I'll drink to that.
I don't mean to hijack this topic, new to the forum and am very interesting in purchasing my first speedster. The question I have is that I'm 6'2. Wondering if I'd fit in one of these comfortably.

Speaking for myself and my car a CMC, I'm 6'1'' and after lowering the drivers seat as low as I could get it(previous owners were in the 5'8''- range in height and had installed spacers) I fit pretty well in the car. The leg room leaves a little to be desired, wish it were 3-4'' longer then it'd be close to perfect. For some reason the passenger side seems to have more leg room, probably because there are no pedals in the way...LOL...all in all it is pretty comfortable for me.
If it were me I'd try and find a Speedster owner or 2 and ask if you could sit in their car, that'd give you a pretty good idea if you would be comfortable or not. The taller you are it seems there is more difficulty getting in and out of the car also...have a friend who is about 6'5'' and he has a heck of time getting in and out, plus the top of his head sticks up above the windshield frame.
Be advised that not all Speedsters have the same amount of room. The pan-based ones are generally a little tighter inside while the tube-framed cars usually have a bit more space. I would think 6' 2" would fit in a tube-frames car if you could move the seat back. I'm 5' 11" and had the Beck folks move mine back, but I find I have to move it forward a notch.
Unlike most of you here, I know shitake about cars and what makes them run. There was a time, back in the day, when I would change the oil of my VW, but that was a long time ago. Now I pay people to do that (yes, I still have my '74 VW and it runs great.) The bottom line is, while I'm not a "car guy," I do appreciate good art, and the Speedster is just a glorious example of automotive art! After much research, I bit the bullet and had one built by Kirk in Hawaiian Gardens. The whole process was so easy!l And the car is SO much fun to drive. As for problems... It's basically a VW, so any problem you encounter will be a fraction of what it would be with any other car. When there's a problem with my MINI, the bill in in the thousands. When there's a problem with the VW, it's in the hundreds. So relax and breathe. You're gonna love it.
Insurance costs me about the same as it does on the MINI, with full coverage. About $400. I had the VW and the Speedster insured together to get the multi-car discount and the yearly bill for both together is bout $500. Kirk had to give me recommendations, because Farmers won't insure a kit car. Hope this helps.
So I say, DO IT. You're gonna love it.
"An air-cooled car is not like a simpler version of your Honda. It's more like a fancier version of a lawn mower, built in somebody's back shed."
Stan said this back on the first page and I just saw it; almost choked on my ice cream! A more apt description of these cars has not been written....
