Hi Folks,
CMC
been playing around with body panel alignment prior to paint.

Doors and engine cover fit well with good gaps sometimes adjusted by "removing" some material, but I'm having a problem with the hood.....

Fit is "OK" apart from the bottom left area where it sits about 1/4" low....I've messed around with hinges, adding spacers, removing adjusting etc. Still no joy.

I bought a bunch of different thickness foam seals and by varying seals left to right and pushing hard, I can improve fit, but its still not great.....Any suggestions?

Should I add some filler to bring up the level?

(I should point out that a while ago I managed to break one of the cast hinge assemblies....I recut the profile in steel)

Yes!! fiberglass will move and stretch . Add a foam filler in the bad spot and close it for a week or two. If you can let it set in the the sun a few days,, also helps it stretch

I have one more peace of advise .

Make your forward door cracks a hair wider than the rest,, as the car ages they will chance shape and that area is prone to touch sooner or later causing chips on the edges..
