HEY HEY!!!! My car came today. Thanks to Roy at C9C and Greg at VMC. This car is amazing. Only had time to take delivery, drive it around the block, and park. Snapped a few pics to keep me company while I work. The funny thing is that the red leather is dark in person, light in the pictures. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!

I was going to change out the hood handle crest (I know the front nut is a pain), but I was wondering about the read one. It looks like I'll have to either pull up the carpet or make a small incision to get to the nut.

And before anyone says anything, I did read Phil's post about drilling out his IM hood crest. He has way more guts than I do.

Not looking to tear apart a new car, but a bit of interior adhesive never hurt anyone, right? 1234567

My suggestion would be to live with it for a while.  The car will certainly be a rarity, where-ever you are, and when people ask you van tell them it's a custom car built by Vintage Motorcars of California - That should add to the panache.

Then, you won't have to be in a hurry and can find out how to get at the hood handle nuts to remove it.  As you know, replacing the emblem after the handle is removed should be a LOT easier, especially the nut holding the emblem to the handle, and you won't have to drill a big, honkin hole into anything.

Re the e-brake:

They guy who does my State inspection has the same problem.  Sometimes, the e-brake is applied very strongly, making it very hard to disengage.

Grasp the handle, pull up strongly on the handle and then push the button to disengage and you should feel it let go.

If all else fails, lift the front of the e-brake handle boot so you can see the base of it and shine a strong light towards the handle from the front.  You can use a screwdriver to push rearward against top of the little lever in there to make it disengage when someone pulls the handle up, but you should be able to it to release without resorting to that.

Good news! I got the parking brake un-stuck. It just needed a good whack when turned. I think I pulled it a bit too hard in my hurry to get back to work earlier.

@Michael Pickett Too late. Bring on the rattle. My garage drive is so steep that when I come home one day, I'm sure the nut will roll back to the front of the car. Just need to stop on the driveway, pop the frunk, and grab it.  In the meantime, I'll have to swing by a Home Depot or something to find a replacement. When I finally get around to replacing the crest, I'm planning to stuff a rag on either side the hood opening. It's times like these I wish I had a 10- or 12-year-old kid with tiny fingers; you know, one I could get to do these impossible jobs by dangling the idea of one day driving the car. Like a dirt farmer dangles a carrot in front of a mule. Hahahhahaha

I orders a telescoping magnet. Great minds think a like.

@Alan Merklin good idea. I’m such a schmuck for this one.

That would have been my recommendation, telescoping magnet. I can't believe how long I went without one and all of the crazy are ways I went about retrieving my lost nuts before I finally got a magnet. And yes, I know exactly how that last sentence sounds. I intended it that way.
