Looks good, but we call 'em tops on this side of the pond- a hood is what you call a bonnet. Regarding the question- are you referring to the flaps that run along the window opening, and terminate in the windshield/bow area? If that is the case, I've had two cars with two different approaches-
My first car had snaps on the windshield frame, which attached to the flaps. The upside was that they held the flaps very securely, and stretched them out, the downside was that top-down, there were snaps on the windshield frame.
My JPS had the snaps on the bow, which kept the windshield frame clean. However, it didn't really stretch the flap out, and it hung down a bit.
Something to keep in mind is that at speed- the side curtains and this flap tend to want to get sucked out of the car... so even with the flaps just hanging there, at 60 mph, they will suck up to the side-curtains nicely.
