Hood Lock when the car has A/C: Suggested Solutions Needed | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Hi,
Just bought a speedster and want to get a lock installed for the hood so I can leave some items in the car. Ordered a lock from VintageSpeedsters, but they could not fit it because of the compressor for the air conditioning is fitted under the locking mechanism for the hood.

Does anyone with a similar car configuration have a solution?
* Is there a different locking system out there?
or
* Is there a locking solution for the opening knob inside the car?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could make a small lockbox and weld it to the frame to enclose the latch knob.

Ditch the cable and go with an electric solenoid. Check them out at a hot rod parts place.

I recall Im's with a key lock right in the knob. Maybe call Henry at IM?
