Hooking up the TEMP guage

I am trying to figure out how to hook up the temp guage. These are VDO and the temp is on the left side of the Fuel Gauge. I saw what seemed to be a sender on the motor casing near the distributor. Is that a temp switch or is it for Oil Pressure?

Is this where I simply hook a wire to the back of the guage?

That's the oil pressure switch. First find out what the rating (ohms) is for your gauge then get a matching sender. If it's a VDO gauge probably (?) any VDO sender will work. See VDO's web site for the various types; they also have a dipstick sender that may not be shown on the site.

Some of us have big tachs and some of us have small tachs. A big tach is useless if it can't rev past 5,000 rpm. I can't, for the life of me, figure out where I'm going with this...so I give up.

It is a big TACH.Looks cool having a needle jump up and down. The Tach was turned originally so the RED-LINE would be straight up. This car was raced before and almost destroyed by the previous owner. But he did rebuild the motor and did a good job with that.

Ensures that I see where the motor is I guess. It's the size of the Tach...and I know what to do with it.... :)

* Check out my turn switch. It was busted off when I bought the car. Put a wooden chisel handle. Looks awesome!

most instruments on race cars used to be rotated so the needles were straight up when displaying normal measurments so the driver could see them out of the corner (bottom) of his or her eye.
