"Cory was wrong, TC is a GOD and always right . . . "
Okay. You win, but what happened to "Join me and we shall rule the galaxy as father and son." ... ?
Anyway, I'm sure the HOA would LOVE for me to hack that car to further bits on the curb in front of the old townhouse. Might be fun. Wanna bring some wire a welder? :)
"Might be fun. Wanna bring some wire a welder? :)"

Speaking of which, I'm bending up a full competition cage (SCCA/NHRA legal . . . still working out the seat belt horizontal/diagonal controversy) for my 356 C coupe. Want me to duplicate it for your car?

Make it up as a knock down with some photo/instructions on how it goes back together. I figure that once the angles and lengths are figured for mine, a duplicate is a snap. Same body/year/make so it ought to be a perfect fit for you.

At least, this time, you won't end up with all of those silly tacked on out-riggers and foolish unsupported twin roll hoops.

I'll betcha that you didn't even use DOM for all that crap . . .
OK Lads . . .

Without getting anywhere near an argument as to understanding the actual inertial mass (NOT weight ! !) of a body (the truck/loaded trailer rig), and avoiding the whole classical mechanics/Newton's Laws of Motion thing . . .

What Cory did with the Hoopty is really no big deal ! ! ! ! AND no reflection on the strength of the welds that held the bar in place.

We've all seen those supposed "strong men" pics from the 1930's with guys pulling trains with ropes in their teeth.

Honestly, Cory could have pulled the truck/rig with the tow strap wrapped around his cheesy seat bracket. All he did was apply just enough force to overcome innertia. He mentioned that he was surprised that the powder coating wasn't even messed up by the whole thing.

Of course not, the whole thing was no big deal. Good TV, GREAT drama, but as far as physics goes, a non-event.
For any of you who might have been talking to folks about it, the car will be put up for auction with a $30,000 reserve after Tom and Kelly get their done cars in from California.
I think that drive to Easton might be the last time I touch the wheel until she's on her way out the door.
I really need to find it a new home so I can get on with my evil, devious plans for an outlaw coupe -- and commit some money to the Spyder.
A couple more photos, in case y'all have been showing people at work:

The pictures of this car, while great, really don't do it justice. This is a multi-pass car, meaning that you walk around it time after time looking at it, and on each pass you find something else that makes you say; Wow....That's nice!

Sometimes it's the cleanliness of the wiring (Honestly looks like the stuff we used to do for the Apollo program), sometimes it's the geometry of the frame members, on each pass something else pops out at you.

Explaining that here is like trying to explain your first visit to the Grand Canyon. Everyone has seen pictures of the Grand Canyon and everyone expects it to be big, but when you see it the first time and see the sheer immensity of it over 270 degrees of vision, all you can say is Wow....I had no idea.....
Gordon's quote NEEDS to be part of the copy for the ad on ebay. I sure would be happy to be a reference for the Hoopty and others could as well. Especially those who have driven the car should be an asset to help you sell. I am officially volunteering to do so and I'm sure others will follow suit. Cory I really have enjoyed the way you have shared this project here. I hope you will continue to do so with all your future projects. The ability to share in the details, trials and challenges is one of the best parts of this website.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. Tom, that's fantastic. Gordon, I think Kelly's the rocket scientist, but I'll take your word for it on the wiring. Thanks!
TC, great tip -- and thanks for the flattery. Alan, I want to firm the delivery dates on the coupe and the red Speedie before we do the ad. You planning to be there for the roll-off? Might be a great photo-op, too ...
Either way, though, I don't HAVE to let her go. The incentive is calling me from Indiana ...
Here are some more detail shots (which I'm sure y'all remember):
