Ran across this picture when loading the pictures of the skis and cases. Forgot it was there. Taken the evening of an annual holiday banquet last November/December. IMHO, I had the most beautiful "girls" at the whole affair.

Of course, Ginny and the LMS look even better in their beau's eyes!

Best regards,
Cal

Thanks for all the kind comments about my wonderful wife, Carol. She's tried to keep me on the straight and narrow for about 45 years - although she had a real hard time in the late 60's and early 70's. We were married in '75 and I've finally learned to get the last word in: "Yes, dear."

The best parts of any speedster trip for Carol are the people and the destination. She only spent a small amount of time at Carlisle, and left me alone there for two whole days while she went off and visited her mother in Jersey - her loss, my gain (ended up buying a speedster three weeks later). But she had a glorious time with the folks, rides and tours at the Colorado Gathering, and I've convinced her that the whole SOC group is that way. Morro Bay - with good people, a nice place to stay, the wineries, parade, and dinners - is right up her alley.

Of course, the four days we'll spend driving in the truck took some convincing.... Susie, putting on a tux is a really small price for me to pay for this concession.

As far as the church, I can't remember exactly where it was - but I bet Dusty can provide specifics. As a matter of fact, there was a wedding going on the afternoon we stopped. Jennifer and Darrin have a phenomenal picture of the bride at the front door - maybe she'll post it.

It'll be good to see everyone in a few weeks!

Best regards,
Cal
Cal (and others, too):

Just looked at my Carlisle database and was a bit surprised at how many spouses are coming this year. Looks like 14 thus far, and we always get a bunch of folks who sign up at the last minute.

I'm still counting Vince and Angela and their spouses, although I haven't received their email info yet.

In fact, for all you folks who have been wondering for years if if my wife, Kathy, is just a figment of my imagination, she told me just this morning that she would like to come along, too (I think she wants to see Teresa again) so you'll all get to meet her, too. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on point of view - we'll be leaving the Jacks here in Beaufort with their friends.....

I've been striving to make the event "Spouse Friendly", regardless of spousal persuasion, so our cruises are always to a place to eat and the Friday bash at the Antique Auto Museum is going to be a pretty classy event. No, we won't see MUSBJIM in his Tux (or me, either, for that matter) but it's a super-nice place for a bunch of "Speedstah Folks".

BTW: Current head counts are thus:

Thursday dinner: 44

Friday Museum tour: 40

Friday Dinner: 55 (Lots of people arriving Friday)

Saturday Dinner: 58

I'm still getting several inputs each week.

Cal,
Great picture of you and your "daughter". I'm sure she must be adopted because Carol isn't old enough to have even a 5 year old! One question ... did you use laquer or enamel paint to make your cumberbund and tie match the speedy? Was it dry yet when you took the picture??

Suzy, the church is called Camp St Malo and it is located between Allenspark and Estes Park, Colorado. A few years back the Pope stayed at the retreat center there.

Cal and Carol, we are looking forward to getting together again in Morro Bay. All the rest of you folks will really like this couple. Great people with a great attitude!!

Happy Trails,
Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon
