In the March 2011 issue of the publication "HOT ROD" (not Peterson's Hot Rod Magazine), they have published two pages of old James Dean photos racing in his #23 Speedster. While I scanned the two pages, the files are much too large (8 megs) to post here. I know that Walmart sells this magazine, in SW Florida at least.

Terry, I believe the junk on the front of the Speedster may be masking tape based on these to old photos. I actually wish he'd not got interested in the Spyder...but it sure looks like his interest is piqued in the one photo. This old movie is interesting.

At 1:44, that may be Dean in the white flash (Speedster) and at 3:45 there's a nice red Speedster flashing by. Gotta use your imagination a bit.

Actors are interesting people. I don't know (and can't imagine) what skills are necessary to portray the emotions of some imaginary character on the screen. But in the real world, several of them have done quite well in motorsports. To name a few:

James Dean
Paul Newman - SCCA national champion
Craig T. Nelson - IMSA
Steve McQueen
James Garner
Dave Garroway - Jaguar SS-100 - am I dating myself here?
Guy Lombardo - Unlimited hydroplanes
One of the Smothers Brothers - the straight faced one - an entertainer though, not an actor.

I'm sure I missed a few, probably from daytime soaps, but I wouldn't know'em if I saw 'em.
