Does Chris read this forum anymore?
I have a Mary Poppins type stroller; a pram, I believe they're called, with his kidlet's name on it. I'm pretty sure my Dad would like to get it out of his basement. It's a Silver Cross, and is very British in it's British-ness.
It'll do well in the Northeast. Pass the word, eh?
I think he's leaning more towards a flame-painted "Speedstah-Strollah" than a Mary Poppins Pram.
Gotta keep up the "Five Cent Racing" image, after all......

If I know Chris at all, he'll get one of those 3-wheeled jogging strollers and pimp it out! GO DAD!

Gordon, it looks like this:
http://www.whwatts.co.uk/prams-7/silver-cross-heritage-collection-kensington-pram-9544.htm
And it's probably 20 years old. I'm just sayin' ... you said he lives in your old house? In a fairly nice neighborhood?
Heh, heh ... The Joneses might have to keep up with HIM.
It's there. It won't be going anywhere anytime soon. No kids for us. If he wants it, he can have it. ;)
About Carlisle -- have we got a firm plan on the itinerary yet? It looks like Teresa might be working during that period, but nothing is for sure until The Man calls to tell her if she got the gig.
It'll be nice to see everybody, and maybe take in some of the attractions I've missed out on in recent years.
Is it too early to begin a head-count thread? If there are some 'maybes' among us who need their cars brought up to speed, we can fire up the ECBT and turn some wrenches, too. I'll certainly be up for that.

We'll have an itinerary out in a couple of weeks. Right now we're working on a place to eat Friday night - the All Star Cafe, our stop for every year since 2004, was closed. I'm going to be off-line for a week and then we'll start to tie up the loose ends. This thread will stay for Hotel-related stuff and we'll start a new thread for details and activities,
Here you go......A true, "Five Cent Racing" kinda stroller:

I can see Chris welding up something with a turbo on it just for grins.

I saw an episode of Gearz the other day. They took a perfectly good Gibson ES-335 and cut a corner off of it. They then proceeded to make a miniature set of headers and grafted them on. They painted it a custom green metallic and it looked totally badass! That is the kind of thing I expect from Mr. C. Nichols.

Just to update a little, I copied and pasted the show and hotel info over at Spyderclub.com. I am hoping for more Spyders this year, we will have at least four now that Alan has one. How long he has it remains to be seen........
Back to the Hotel Carlisle......
On 2/6 Jack Crosby posted that there was only one room remaining of the 30-room block. Since then Alan Merklin was able to get 5 more rooms added to the block. (Thanks Alan!) BUT I can't stress enough that if you are coming to Carlisle in May and want to lodge with the rest of the gang - don't procrastinate making your reservations. We are competing with other groups for these rooms and as time passes it will get tougher to get more rooms. Details are posted at the top of this thread.
Danny - Thanks for posting info for the Spyder guys, would appreciate if you could "ride herd" over there - the more the merrier!

Thanks for all of the thoughts, guys. While I'm bummed I won't make Carlisle (especially to see the proper Hoopty return!!), I'm sure I'll have my hands full about then with Karen in the last weeks of her pregnancy.
Cory, I still pop in every couple of weeks, but I changed jobs over the summer and it's been going absolutely out straight ever since, plus getting the nursery ready, plus trying to finish up about 982038430 other things before the baby arrives and I have no free time for the next 2-3 years or so...
Who should I send my raffle items to once I finish them? Bruce?
I expect lots of pictures from Hotfoot this year - she's had a year to practice with her Nikon!
Oh, by the way, my sister gave me her stroller. This thing is like the Maybach of strollers - it comes with a hinge and joint lubrication kit, it's own repair kit, a tire pump, and a calibrated tire pressure gauge. It has a suspension on the front wheels, too. There very well may be flames painted on it by the time the little guy shows up. ;-)
Having said that, Cory, that vintage buggy looks pretty sweet. I'll talk to the bride... thanks!

Outstanding! Very glad to hear you're doing well.
Sounds like you're preparing for a different kind of "Madness."
Good luck with that! We'll miss you, but we'll hoist (at least) a pint for your continued good fortune!

Chris,
You and Karen have our best wishes, any idea if you're expecting a boy or girl? You can send the raffle items to me. Thanks. I'll send you a PM with my address.
Everyone else..... every year we hold a raffle of donated items during the weekend. The raffle helps to defray some of the residual costs and the gang goes home with some very nice items. For example, last year I went home with a super luggage rack donated by Carey Hines/Special Edition. So we would appreciate if you could start watching for some super deals on Speedster-related stuff or hunt around your garage for those items you don't need but someone else might. We'll start a raffle thread in the next few weeks.

Thanks, Bruce. I'll finish them up in a few weeks and send them down. For you attendees (especially those who have attended past Carlisles) - you're going to want to buy a few raffle tickets this year for sure. :)
Oh - and..
It's a boy! :)

Look forward to seeing you down here in a few weeks, Chris!
Congrats Chris.......All the best to you and yours.... :>)
How many rooms left in our block?
I'll check in the AM when someone is there I can get an accurate answer from. ~Alan
Four rooms left at last check. Note the block ends April 20th, get your room reservation now if your joining us!
At the current rate of increase in event attendance, we may have the whole place to our selves in about two more years......I'm just sayin.........
If you have not contacted Hotel Carlisle for your room reservation, just two days remain in our block of rooms and will be released on Tuesday 4/20 ~Alan
