Hotel Carlisle Update!!

Due to the overwhelming response of attendees at the 2009 Carlisle Kit Car Show, we have sold out our block of reserved rooms at the Hotel Carlisle (We had 45 rooms set aside).

But don't despair!!!

They have plenty of other rooms available and are putting up folks from the Speedster Owners Group in a closely adjacent building (they actually have several buildings of rooms on property, so this is definitely NOT a problem.)

If you haven't yet made your room reservations, I would strongly recommend that you do so very soon. Please continue to tell them that you are part of the Speedster Owners Group, but your room rate may vary depending on amenities (#/size of beds and so forth).

Remember, also for you people trailering or need a place to park your airplane, there is LOTS of primo trailer parking space at the rear of the Hotel. Pull-through spaces and all!

Info:

Gordon,

I'll be giving up my rooms (Carlisle and Christianberg) ASAP. My wife has been hospitalized again for the 2nd time in 2 weeks as of 12:30 today. Please remove me from all events, etc..
Thanks to all.

Aaron

I just canceled my room as of 14:00 hrs today.

Christainberg Room (going and returning))canceled at 14:09 hrs today.

Unfortunetly I will need to give up my room also....I have been concerned about my mothers health for some time now, but in reality I just had to come up with a few grand for taxes, my kid gets married May 9th and frankly I'm about tapped out of any excess funds.
I was looking forward to seeing some of you East coast characters, but I guess it will need to wait a little longer.....I will be calling the hotel in the morning.....I'm bummed...
What am I gonna do the a whole case of Oban!? $hit, I guess I'll have to run a drink special at the bistro.

I was looking forward to meeting you and Terry but I understand that the daughters take priority. I have two little girls and there isn't anything I wouldn't do to make them happy so I hear ya. All the best and congrats on your daughters wedding.

Aaron,
I hope everything is OK with your wife. Family is more important than a silly car show.
Lads and Lass,

Thanks for all the well wishes. Linda was hospitalized Monday for the second time in 2 weeks. First time a complete, floor busting blackout, temp of 103.7 and blood pressure less than 100! 6 IVs,2 IVs of antibiotics and one of potassium chloride. Sent home without a diagnoses!!! The same thing the following week.

This time I promised not leave until I and the doctors knew what was the cause! EKG, ultra sound of her heart, blood cultures and FINALLY a C'scan. Would you believe an extreme sinus infection???

The first time the physical damage was a badly bruised chest, arm and chin. X-rays were done then, The C,scan showed the problem. Now she will have to do a particular procedure and use a NITA Pump? May get to come home soon. I don't want to leave her alone.

Remember..Doctors are only licensed to PRACTICE!

Thanks agin for the good Wishes.

Aaron
Yup, Alan's back is fully fixed, but they're still trying to find the cause of his Speedster addiction!!!

Aaron: Hope the wife recovers quickly. I've had sinus infections like that - they're no fun at all. All the best, and the Carlisle stuff is all taken care of.

Same for you, too, Vince. Sounds like a whole lot on your plate right now, so maybe we'll see you at Carlisle next year when things settle down for you a bit. We'll all drink a toast with cheap Bourbon strained through one of Lane's socks to simulate Oban.....

gn
Aaron,

My condolences on the health issues -- you gotta do what you gotta do. We will miss you at the gathering. Better to work this one through and stay on top of the Docs. wrt Docs and Mechanics, a fine observer of our general condition, namely George Carlin, may God rest his troubled soul, noted that in the whole country there were indeed great doctors, and not-so-great doctors and of course there would have to be the worst doctor. Well, OK as far as that goes but, the problem that troubled George so was the fact that, wrt the worst doctor in the country, someone would have an appointment with him in the morning. Scary. It sounds like you have got headed in the right direction now w/ wife's recovery, and I hope it happens quickly.

Mickey, Re: Your case of Oban. Perhaps you can invent a new drink for your special: call it the the Manato-rita.

Vince: I assume you have your computer password protected, so your SOC postings are well gaurded. I'm bummed we will not meet in Carlisle. I'm thinking that the party will be somehow diminished as a result -- not that we won't have a really great time anyway, but I'm just sayin . . .
Holy CARP(?)! It's been summer here for the past MONTH!! I LOVE IT!!!!

Been able to get out and work on my back yard shed/church (it has a pretty steep roof for South Carolina, but at least the snow will fall right off - if we ever get any here....)

Had dinner on the rear deck and watched the tide come in. The Jacks barked at raccoons and deer on the other side of the inlet. Everyone's happy!

Lane's comment brings to mind an old series in the Sunday comics, "BC" One of the characters was "Clumsy Carp".

gn
A fisherman was reaching over the side of his rowboat to reel-in the carp he had just caught. As he leaned over, his wallet fell out of his back pocket. Just before it hit the water, another carp surfaced to catch the wallet.

As the fisherman reached back to try to retrieve his wallet from the carp, that carp flipped the wallet over to the carp on the other side of the boat. This continued for several tosses between the two fish.

This is a perfect example of 'carp-to-carp walleting' - Bwaaaaaa Haaaaaaa Haaaaaa!!
Lads and lass,

My wife is home now. Released from the hospital with literally a handful of prescriptions!!!! and a NITI pot. A teapot with a hose that sticks up your nose and it "pours" something into ones head cavities.^%$^$#$W. Damn, don't want to get involved with that. I am watching her very closely, I don't want to see her falling through the sunroom doorway again. Totally unconscious.

Reading posts about mixing Excellent Hieland single malt into a concoction for Vince!!!! Augh!!!! Vince, I want let`em do it. That "junk" called Johnny Walker, Cutty Sark, and few others may improve with sugary, fruity substances. Aye, but a single malt such as Oban, Arberlour, Lisemore are to be savored with one teeny drop of pure mountain water into at least a minimum of two fingers of the amber liquid in a hand-cut, on the rocks glass or a pint fruit jar will do if handy. Nothing like it!

Thanks again for your kind thoughts and wishes for my wife's well being. When your 69 approaching 70, one needs all the help he can get.

Aaron:

I've had chronic sinus infections all my life (4-10 per year).

Tried the Netti Pot years ago and hated it.

Now use a Neil Med sinus rinse system, which is a small squeeze bottle instead of the pot thingie. MUCH easier to use, MUCH easier to clean and MUCH easier to take on trips (I used to travel a lot, too).

Found at pharmacies right next to the Netti Pot. Surprisingly, my allergist here in Beaufort had heard of and recommended the Netti pot but was unaware of the other system. After I showed it to him he now recommends the Neil Med bottle instead.

gn
It's gross to me too!!! "In one side da nose ota the udder"! You bet I don't watch.

The Neil bottle looks like another form of the nose torture appliances, ad came hidden in the pot. This pot was one of the Neil products. More test are planned for Linda. WE'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks again!

Damn...I'll never enjoy a snot bogger samwich with crusties again!
