"UP DATE ON HOTEL DEL" Grant Harper has done the pre-run , we have the maps ready to go, we will be meeting at the Chevron Station at I-5 and La Costa Blvd , please try to be there at 9:30 for the drivers meeting, we would like to leave by 10 A.M. please let us know if you will be attending, this way we can keep track of the cars on the day of the event! If you run into a problem please call Grant's cell 760-583-7892, we will continue to check the web site so let us know. Let's Goooo!!!!
Grant T., apparently Desi is pretty close to you, I will be leaving the South Bay location at 8:00 AM and so far it looks like I am alone.
I can be at the interchange of 5/405 approx between 8:45-9:00, so perhaps you two can find a convenient location and I will meet you.
Esther wants us at the LaCosta location at 9:30 but I think it will be closer to 10:00 by the time I get there, so if you are coming we will need to leave your meeting spot real soon after my arrival.

It would be nice to have a few cars leaving 5/405 location with me,
so some of you guys get off your asses....
Gabe, Joe L/Curtis are you guys in and if so, what route are you taking.....

Curt, I ended up getting a ticket on the shovel for loud pipes....
Lic Plate says UNSTABL, cop says, "that bike looks pretty stable to me" I said the bike is, but the rider isn't....he laughed...

...just as a suggestion for LA/OC SOCer's gathering to convoy down to the La Costa exit for Hotel Del C cruise.

The easiest fwy on/off location would be the Carl's Jr. (hamburger joint with a huge parking lot in back) on the Lake Forest Ave. exit as you approach the southbound 405/5 junction.

To continue to La Costa, the southbound on-ramp for the 5 fwy is right next to this Carl's Jr.

P.S. - Vince, you could be grinding on a mondo Carl's Jr. breakfast burger as you drive.

Peace - Out!
Hi Warren!

Sorry to hear that you are still experiencing cooling problems with your car. Probably just as well to discover and fix that problem now as opposed to having those same problems miles away from home! Hope you get it back on the road real soon.

Anyway, now you'll have to find another way to stay cool this weekend - as the weather forecast for your neighborhood is 110+ degrees.

Keep hydrated with beaucoup margaritas!!

Peace - Out!
Hey Jim

Actually, it was 114 degrees here today. Since my car needs some attention, I went flying. They closed my airport, due to the fires out here, but was able to convince the Event Commander to let me go take my pictures. My other passion is flying and taking pictures for developers etc. I am really disappointed that I cannot make the run to the Del, but I will see and meet you guys soon. Gotta go, I need more Tequilla.
Paging Mangoman!

Grant, the plan for everyone who wants to caravan to the rendevous in Encinitas (La Costa exit off 5 fwy) for the Hotel Del C cruise, is to meet at Desi's (Cabanaboy) shop at 8:00 a.m on Saturday morning. See link below. I won't be able to make the cruise because of other obligations, but I will be at Desi's on Sat morning to take some pics. See ya then!

Peace - Out!

Grant, don't be sorry, I didn't make it either, in fact, I have little interest in standing around bonding with the boys, talking about cars, .....especially putting a wrench in my hand...
I could make an exception if there is some single malt involved...

No way in hell I can be in O.C. by 8:00, I'm leaving Redondo at 8:00.
I need my beauty sleep (see my pic's)
It sounds like you guys have a little thing going, so I think I'll just meet you at the La Costa location.......

If there is anyone coming from North of O.C. and want company, let me know.......

Why the heck are you guys getting to La Costa at 9:30 am? GEEZ that is early.. It takes 2 freaking hours to get to SD from anywhere in LA, why so damn early.. You gotta eat by 11:00 or something? Man what happened to a relaxing drive and lunch at 1 or 2. Then more talking and a cool drive home by 4 pm. Everyone seems to be leaving LA or OC at 8:00 or 7:30. WHY my Brutha's...

Looking for insight!

Speedster "D"
It SURE IS early....if we meet at 5/405 at 0800 we should be in SD by 0900/0930 and what then...breakfast ? I like Dave's idea of eating around 1200/1300 and heading back around 1600...eeaasy daay !!! specially as I (at least) can't drink (too much) 'cause of the drive.

Jennifer - did I read you had a 12yr old? me too - we should've gotten them together and they coulda babysat each other?

Vince - I will probably meet the guys at Desi's but it is very easy to wait for you - give me a call when you reach the 405/55 fwys and we can meet up and head south as a caravan of 2. 949-929-5635.

Maybe stop somewheres for a coffee? Del Mar gunshow? or...??

Last year everyone planned on getting here at 1000 and no one took into account the southbound traffic on Saturday morning. I think Vince and the gang pulled in around 1100 or so. The cruise will take two hours and 15 minutes so if we can pull out at 1015 we will be parking and eating by 1300 hours. We are in no hurry but that is the reality of the timing so we will be waiting for you. Bring lots of water!!
Grant, I would love to go to the gun show, but I think that is out.
at least for tomorrow, perhaps another time..... as far as timing, I can be in the 405/55/5 area around 9:00 if i leave Redondo around 8:00 as planned, If you guys want to wait fine, if not
fine....frankly, I have fun driving my car whether I'm in a group or by myself...I just find it interesting that there are so many owners who get on this site and can't stop talking about how frigging great these cars are, and you can't get 6 guys to actually take them on a nice long ride......but they will sit on this site and mentally masterbate each other all day long, and say, "oh your car is so cool"......Sorry, I just get real frustrated with some of you, you have no problem spending 30-40 LARGE for a car that sits in your garage, or doesn't get more that 10 miles from the house....

David S. if you are monitoring this thread, you should be embarrased
by the showing from So. Cal.
Grant, I wrote down your cell and I will call when I reach the 55 on the 405, I figure about 8:45-9:00.....I have done this run 3 times, I know where I need to be, to be at the 10:00 meeting spot in S.D.
considering the course and the Thunder Ranch stop, 10:00 is a reasonable time to meet at LaCosta so I plan to follow the original plan, I will stop in O.C. to pick up cars if you guys can come up with a meeting spot, if not I'll see you guys in LaCosta.
I will check this thread in the morning for any updates......
good night........
Vince: As Jim says above - great spot to meet -
"The easiest fwy on/off location would be the Carl's Jr. (hamburger joint with a huge parking lot in back) on the Lake Forest Ave. exit as you approach the southbound 405/5 junction. "
I will be there after meeting with the others at 0800 - by that time breakfast and coffee will be perfect.

later...
