Partic,

My 88 CMC has a manufactures ID Plate under the front Bonnet adjacent to the locking mechanism. I specifies the Year and an ID Number.

I have the original documents from CMC in Miami as well as the original title of the donor vehicle.

My car is registered as a 1969 VW.

So determining who's asking I tell them the following:

A. No!, Its not a Karmen Ghia
B. Its a 57 Speedster (Who Made a Speedster?), "Porsche-while walking away.
C. "Is it a real one"? - Its a 57 Speedster CMC, "While Walking Away"

I've owner two other Porsche's (912's & 911's) as well as various other upper end exotic sports cars but it seems "Some" Porsche Owners are the most arrogant. Either they know "Everything" or don't know "Anything" - They all know one thing how to be rude to Speedster Kit Car Owners.

As a compairson, this is the most fun you can have with your "Clothes On!"

Jack

When you enter your account information it asks for both year purchased and the year built. What shows up with your name is the year built - hence those with 90% completed builds say 2004 or 2005! It doesn't display what is on the Statement of Origin for the body (or date registered/titled). My SO actually says 1989! The Statement of Origin looks just like a title and is to be used with the VW title to register the vehicle. HA, since I put 2005 for date built, I'm hoping that motivates me to finally finish it in 2005 and not let it carry on til 06! I'm hoping that when I register it in VA they will title it as a 1970 (after the VW chassis) vice any thing else. I've put off registering it til I'm ready to drive it since VA has a yearly Personal Property tax based on their assigned value --- plus the initial sales tax!
