how much/hard is it to build a speedster

Ive always been interested in kit cars and im thinking about building a speedster.how difficult is it and how much does it cost if i use a scavenged vw beetle. should i aboandon the idea and just save up and some day try and buy one turnkey or with tubular frame and not vw. any hints...

Go to the "vendor specific" folder and look at the "Vintage Speedster Deluxe Kit" topic. Then look up Chris Sutton's "build site" which contains a wealth of information regarding what the project involves. If you still want to do it after you have viewed the information and carefully assessed your skills and the level of committment required, go for it.
