How t install Reutters badge

I recently ordered one from ebay and it looks good. only problem is not sure how to install. It has two holes in it, but no bolts or pins or whatever to mount it. So, what do I need and how is it done?

I use very small brass screws. Decide on the mounting location, drill pilot holes for the screws... place a dab of silicone on the back side of the badge and carefully screw it onto the body so that the screw just makes contact with the badge so that you don't distort it.

No-one ever just used a rivet gun and just rivetted the sucker on?

Details,details,details! My Merklin built Speedster just took another "Judges Choice/Best In Show" over the weekend. Take the time to do it right. "What you don't do nice,you do twice"!

The badge is thin aluminum and slightly convex - riveting without filling it with something like JB Weld will flatten it out.

Well I never knew........lol. I've actually ordered one off E-bay this morning and was wondering about how it attaches, they advertise it with these impressive rivets that look like they were used on a WWII aircraft.

Please post pictures when you've mounted the badge, I'd love to see how you did it and what it looks like.

I used long (1/2") aluminum pop rivets. I then filled in the tell-tale holes with silver caulk. The finished product looks just like I had used the rivets that came with the badge.

i cannot bring myself to drill two holes for the badge (on each side). i plan to use the tip of a screw head and epoxy it on and then use a gentle 3M adhesive to put them on - that way, if i ever want to take them off - i can - with no extra "speed" holes.

I didn't want to drill holes in the car, either! My husband, Marc, used an automotive silicone to place the badge. He said he can cut the screws down and attach them, too, without having to drill, and won't scratch the paint. (Yeah!) The only bad part is that we ordered 2 badges, and didn't realise that we only received one until after we put this one on the left side. With only one, I guess it should've gone on the right, right??? Oh well, hopefully, the 2nd one will show up soon.

Not that it's a big deal but the badge only went on the passenger side of the originals. Depending on what you're looking for as far as all that "original" stuff goes it doesn't really matter as long as you and Marc like it.

Yeah, Marc is trying to get everything 'period correct'... so we are really hoping to get the 2nd badge soon! I thought that with the originals, you could have just one (on the passenger side) but 2 was also an option. I, personally, like the look of one on each side.

$18 for the badge and $3 for shipping..........sounds like a deal to me. All other places were over $15 for shipping only with no tracking or insurance option as once it enters South Africa, it's not worth sh*t.

I can't wait for it to arrive.

Hooray! The 2nd badge came in and Marc has it on the car for me! When I get home next week, I'll be able to see how he got them on without drilling the car! I'm just happy to have 2!
