I have an EMPI crankcase breather box that I want to install and am wondering how other folks are attaching it to the firewall. My car is a Vintage Motorcars Speedster and the firewall appears to be a fiberglass panel.
Thanks!
Jason

Bolts, washers and Nyloc nuts

Thanks, but I don't think I can reach up far enough between the firewall and the interior bulkhead to fish a bolt through and hold backup with a wrench.

You can install some rivnuts in the firewall.
I installed some to hold down my gas tank.

Find a friend.
I used Plusnuts instead of Rivenuts for my tank for the added grip on the fiberglass. Had to rig up a couple of nuts and some allthread, because my Rivnut mandril didn’t have the reach. But it worked out all right.
For something like your breather, I think these light duty ones would be fine.

Now that's funny!
I use riv-nuts all the time. I had a cheap tool, then I bought a slightly less cheap tool from Harbor Freight. I got the Doyle brand for $50. It comes with a selection of standard and metric mandrels and inserts.
If you're concerned about future loosening of the insert, put a little thick super glue, epoxy, or JB Weld in the hole before installing the insert.
I ended up buying an extra mandrel in 10-32. That size is used all over my Vee. I carry the tool, the correct size drill, and inserts with me to the track.
You can get aluminum or steel(zinc plated) inserts. I have both.
Thank you all for the great suggestions. I ended up installing my crankcase breather using 5/16" well nuts that I purchased at Lowes today.
Attached is a pic of the breather box mounted on the fire wall. I may attach two hose brackets on the fire wall to keep the port and starboard hoses secure. For the hose brackets I may just use self-tapping screws.

Looks great, Jason. Nice work!
Jason - I can’t quite tell by the photo, how did you cap the now unused barbed end of 90 deg fitting on the filler neck?

Check those from time to time. I’ve used them for various things and I find they only stand up to the heat in the engine compartment for about a year.
Curious, were you getting too much crank case pressure and blowing out your dip stick? or why did you decide to install one of these on a 2332?

At constant highway RPMs the intakes were sucking excessive oil vapor from the crankcase. The tops of my air filters were oily and over the course of 3,200 miles of highway driving the motor had consumed over a quart of oil, as a result of ingesting oil vapor.
