hi,

i am so happy to find a set of a new cmc bucket seats to fit my speedster.

ok, the mounting seemed to be not so easy, but in the beginning i manange it without any big problems.

but i have many problems with the upholstery itself.

1. i do not know the place, where to cut the holes in the fiberglass back. there are no marks and i am afraid to cut the holes in the wrong place with the result the vinyl does not fit the seat.

2. i am unable to glue the side vinyl over the sidefoarms without wrinkles. exscecially in the middle and and the rear sides i have wrinkles, whatever i do...

is there anybody out there, who is able to help me with these problems?

thanks in advance

Did you leave the covers in the hot sun for a few hours? They become more pliable then. The CMC covers were designed using the fewest stitches/seams --- not for looks. You might want to use them for a pattern and have new ones made with a few more seams or even in leather (which seems to stretch better). I definately think the seat cushion needs some cross seams for better looks.
...thanks for your help and idears.

i made the upholstery on a hot and sunny day, but nevertheless: wrinkles...

it seemed to be a good idea to use leather, than the vinyl. and it is not that expensive.

also i think it is a very good idear with the platsic between the foarm and the vinyl/leather.

i will keep it in mind and i am shure with the plastic and the real mleather i will manage the wrinkles next time!

i will ad some pics of my bad work soon. sorry...

as i see in your pics, the holes at the back are also like the one i does ( and not like they are marked on one of my bucket ).

i am now restoring my car and when finished the chassis i will recondition the seats with leather and the plastic between.
