It's like a slippery snake. I can't seem to hold the outer rubber in place and bolt down the trim piece at the same time. What's the trick?

Push the rubber into the groove on the back of the Deco trim before mounting the Deco to the FG bumper.
That's what I've been trying to do, but the rubber keeps slipping out of place. Secure one section and the one you just finished flops out.
How do you keep it in the track on he underside of the aluminum trim?
Two things you can try. Use electrical tape to secure it to the back of the deco and wrap the tape on to the Deco face. After the rubber and Deco are secure slightly pull on the tape cutting it with a straight edge , the tape will retract behind the Deco. ( I do this when installing the upper windshield U rubber) Also, try using 3M contact glue rubber to Deco.
I remember helping my friend Walter install the bumper trim on his 1972 911. It was a real PITA even with 4 hands!
He had a great saying that I'll never forget:
"Two heads are better than one, even if one of us is a knucklehead".
He never said which one of us was the knucklehead though LOL!
You know he meant himself, D.
Ed, I'm sure it depended on the situation who he might be referring to LOL!
