How to remove this knob?

Does anyone out there know how to remove the heater knob?

* Make sure heater is turned off completely (turn knob fully clockwise)

* Underneath the car, unhook the two cables at the heater boxes (little barrel clamps at heater box flaps)

* Unscrew the knurled nut below the heater knob

* Pull out the knob assy - the two cables should trail right along

* Remove the little pin at the bottom of the knob assy to remove/install cables

* Remove old cable and install new cable - replace pin

* Note - one cable is longer - the Bently says the longer one goes on the passenger side.. I disagree - It stands to reason the longer one goes on the drivers side.

*Feed the wires down the tubes

* Note. the screw jack assy (below Knob) has a slot - this slot has to go back onto the little boss down inside the control shaft - if you miss it - it will not work properly

* Retighten the knurled knob nut

* Hook up heat boxes.
