How to tune out a slight bog in Solex

I'm slowly fixing the little car up. I had a bad bog, I rebuilt the Solex carbs, etc. The jet into the bowl says "Solex 130". Is there any quick adjustments I can do to take out the bog? If I'm steady, flat, and maybe 1/4 throttle, I swear I can feel it surging a little. What's going on there? It seems like it's a little rich around idle too..

I guess I'm the only guy running solex's!

If it's a Solex / Kadron lots of folks run them. I had them on my Vintage 1915 and never had a moment's problem with them.

Does the surge sort of keep repeating, like a pulsing at low speeds?

I had that happen with my first set of Kadrons, loose venturies was the cause.

Backed off the screw a bit more, some Loctite on the exposed threads, tightened it snug and done.

Might be what's up with your carbs as well.

TC, lets say you are at 60 mph, at around 3000, with guessing around 1/4 throttle.... thats where I get the very light surge. I noticed that one of my brass accelerator pump squirters is loose, and I don't know how they are fixed to the body of the carb. I'm suspecting this is part of my issues. How is that brass tube supposed to be fixed to the crab body? Swedged?

make sure the squitter shots directly at the throttle blade where it contacts the carb body. bill

You ought to be able to just tap the squirter back into place, but you shouldn't be on the accelerator pump at that speed/RPM, you're on the main circuit by then when just cruising.

Sorry, I meant the slight bog that I still have sometimes at tip in. Perhaps that fuel is leaking at the base of that squirter tube.
