I'm working on a Lotus Elan. The bodies are almost identical.
The Elan looks alot smaller than the Hustler, so I measured them
to check it out. They are both about 85" long, but the Hustler is
about 5" wider. The Lotus runs like a bear, and handles like one too.
What a machine. I'm still trying to get some info about the 67 Auto
Show in NY. I know the Hustler was on display with the Lotus's.
Lotus had a place in Millerton NY, which is close to Sharon where
Sam lived.

I believe that you mean the wheelbases are 85 inches, right? I've sat in an Elan and it's certainly more than 7' 1" long.
I've read in many places that the Elan may be the best handling sports car ever made. I need to drive one someday.

The wheel base is definitely 85" the same as the Hustler. Again, the
Hustler is about 5" wider.
The doors I was comparing were the ones on the Hustler, and
the Elan. Monday I'm going to measure them, and compare.
The Lotus is a 1966 SE series 2.
