I put about 4K on mine the first year. I drive it when I can. This year was pretty useless, as it rained about every time I had free time to drive it, probably 1500 to 2K this year. I have over 15K on mine, in 4 full seasons plus a fall.

Recently I installed a heater and I have just gotten a top too, to be installed. That should extend my season a little.

So it is cold for three months, so what. I can't imagine living somewhere where there isn't a change of season.
HI JACK I HOPE ALL IS WELL I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR POSTS ON THE TYPE IV ENGINE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WONT BE LONG, BET YOU CANT WAIT!!! IAM PLANNING TO DRIVE MY SPEEDSTER TO CARLISE IN MAY ( WEATHER PERMITTING ) MORRO BAY WOW?? THE LONGEST TRIPS I HAVE TAKEN ARE LIMEROCK RACEWAY 100 MILES, I MET UP WITH DANNY AND LEON FOR THE LABOR DAY VINTAGE RACES ALL THREE OF US DROVE ON THE TRACK WITH THE PORSCHE CLUB OF CT, ALSO A TRIP TO WATCH HILL RI 60 MILES.MOST OF MY DRIVING IS TO THE GOLF CLUB AND BACK 10 MILES ROUND TRIP. HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS!! SEE YA IN PA DAN
Gerd, I am sure my mileage would be close to double(and about the same as yours) if I didn't have two youngins. The Spyder doesn't quite cut it for a family of three! So I end up driving it on nice days when I don't have the kids, which works out to half the time I want to, as I have 50% custody.

Basically, between Thanksgiving and Easter, the car sits idle. I did drive it on January 6 a few years ago, it was 65 degrees out! I do leave it insured throughout the year just in case.
El Guapo,

Both my wife and I work at a Fluff Mill (without our product you won't have any toliet paper or paper towels) Our annual shutdown is in May. Since I am in Purchasing and she is in Accounting, I buy it she pays for it cool huh?, neither of us can leave the area for about 8 weeks around the two weeks of inspecting and upgrading the mill. My sister lives in Marin County and we have been trying for 4 years to get there. I assure you if we ever do I will locate all of the SOC members that I can and spend some time visiting.
Hi Cory, Im toying with the idea of stuffing a 96-98 3.6 into my little speedster for a little more giddyup. Its easier/cost effective to do that than to build my 3.2 into a 3.5 twin plug and all that goes with it. My 3.2 may be up for sale, if I can find a good donor 3.6. We'll see how the final numbers come out. The ONLY thing that makes it worthwhile is getting some reasonable coin for the 3.2
