well, my little girls car actually.

i found some spare time on the weekend while it was sunny and finished off the body work and painted it. not my best, but she'll be smashing into stuff anyway. i had to draw the line at 8 hrs of bodywork (including dis-assembly/prep/paint/assembly)

started off like this:





then i quickly started to take things apart:









then i gave the whole shebang a good cleaning with sunlight dish soap




then started to prep the body and sand out the deep scratches:





redid the seat in tan vinyl when i got tired of sanding:




prepped and ready for plastic primer:









base coat of colour:





Rest of colour coat:




after it dried, i flipped it over to undercoat it:







painted the steering wheel and wheels to match mine, threw on some old emblems i had kicking around:




and ...

tada:





next step is to stop at a sign shop and pick up some vinyl (silver) and do the windows and headlights to finish it off.

she hasn't seen it yet, but she is a little too young to appreciate it fully. I'll wait until summer. :)
