well, my little girls car actually.
i found some spare time on the weekend while it was sunny and finished off the body work and painted it. not my best, but she'll be smashing into stuff anyway. i had to draw the line at 8 hrs of bodywork (including dis-assembly/prep/paint/assembly)
started off like this:
then i quickly started to take things apart:
then i gave the whole shebang a good cleaning with sunlight dish soap
then started to prep the body and sand out the deep scratches:
redid the seat in tan vinyl when i got tired of sanding:
prepped and ready for plastic primer:
base coat of colour:
Rest of colour coat:
after it dried, i flipped it over to undercoat it:
painted the steering wheel and wheels to match mine, threw on some old emblems i had kicking around:
and ...
tada:
next step is to stop at a sign shop and pick up some vinyl (silver) and do the windows and headlights to finish it off.
she hasn't seen it yet, but she is a little too young to appreciate it fully. I'll wait until summer. :)
