I called to check on my Speedster yesterday and it turns out it's been painted; a whole week early! Any minute now they will let me pick it up, and I am ready for one of those sessions where I disappear into the garage and don't come out 'till it's DONE.

Here's my list of improvements so far:

Vintage Speedster seats

Vintage carpet kit

Empi trigger shifter with wood knob

LeCarra steering wheel

400 watt stereo with 10" sub

Extractor exhaust

Coco mats

nerf bars

home made headlight stone guards

dual horns

fog lights behind horn grills

new hood seal

replace engine cover seal with bumpers

new rubber seals for hood handle, mirrors, tailights

new lenses for teardrops and front beehives

LED brake lights and 3rd brake light behind engine grill

new parking brake handle

Slate Gray paint (Porsche #6001)

Cue that A-Team music!

The shiny paint really makes the older hardware look bad, stuff that looked just fine on the red gelcoat looks old and tattered now. I didn't have the heart to put my deco trim with the shrunken rubber inserts on; I guess I need a new pair. I didn't get the stuff from Vintage yet so no side trim, carpet or 1/4 boot.

Your car looks WONDERFUL ! ! ! And that dashboard is really sweet, I'm SO glad that the paint worked out well for you.

It's kinda funny how new paint makes everything else look shabby, you'll probably have to give your tires a quick wipe with "Gee, your tires look terrific" in order to bring them up to the level of the new paint.

LOOKS JUST GREAT ! ! ! ! !

Ahhhh, Mike Post . . . his crap is the sound=track of my life.
Thanks! There is some minor orange peel and a few small flaws but I still love it. It looks a lot better in the daylight, almost too shiny.

TC, isn't that cool? I was trying to find the episode where they get locked in a barn by the bad guys and end up building a homemade tank out of tractors and stuff. Maybe that's why I have no patience; growing up watching those guys build things.

I can't wait, Jim! I'll be the guy with the massive SEG!
