I love my car.

Had a chance to do some additions over the last 7 years. Not as blemish free as when I picked it up but still beautiful.

Specification

  • 1800 cc Arnie Levics (re-built my existing engine)
  • Petronics Electronic Ignition (including coil)
  • Discs in front, drums rear (works OK for me)
  • Fuel cut off switch (on impact)
  • Pioneer head unit, plays from my MP3 and discs.
  • Heated front screen
  • Temperature dipstick from “mainlycustombydesign.com”
  • Badges for 356 Speedster -  appropriate.
  • SS luggage rack with straps.
  • SS baby moons
  • Removed sump extension – can’t live with one in London, kept scraping the thing on sleeping policemen.
  • Added secondary releases for both bonnet and boot (cable brake a problem – now have back-up)
  • Have carpets over the originals – to keep them nice.
  • Centre dash clock.
  • Mesh covered headlights with a security bolt – have you seen the price of a headlight assembly ?
  • Gel battery, has worked great. Trickle charge unit keeps it charged.
  • Wind up windows
  • SS silencer box
  • Rear camera – reversing
  • Fire suppression system (Flamecut)
  • 3rd brake light (under grill)
  • Porsche emblem gear knob
  • 3 fire extinguishers (had one fire)

Went out for 15 minutes today and had to stop a few times, traffic lights etc. Five guys said how much they liked my car in 3 different locations. I said “thank you”

Yes, sleeping policemen are speed bumps. They're not the ones that go fully across the road, I can deal with them, it's the design like a square that's set at a distance that fits an ambulance wheel spacing (so they don't have to slow down) You straddle the hump as best you can but this means the high point is much closer to the bottom. Took my oil drain plate twice, well bent it and moved it anyway. The sump extension was to give me more oil but it was more trouble than it's worth.
