Beautiful day here in MS, put the top down and drove all day
Even ran a bunch of errands for the wife
And guess what I didnt even mind
Got a little brave and my speedster almost got away from me
Was going into a curve downshifted to slow down and the rear got away from me
Good thing no oncoming traffice was there or I would need a new speedster
Is this a common problem in curves?
Getting it rewired in the next few weeks
Where is the best place to find a new ignition and key?
I am so glad you guys talked me into getting this speedster
Life is so much better with this car

Rear engine cars are a whole different breed, when it come to cornering. In a front wheel drive car, if you start to drift while going through a corner, just back off the throttle and the car usually falls back into line. With a rear engine car, when the back starts to come around the worst thing you can do is quickly back off the throttle or gear down. It just makes the back end want to come around even faster. Years ago, I enjoyed cornering my 1970 beetle (with gas shocks, sway bars etc) until the back end would start to come around. Then, I'd increase the throttle, rather than back off, and actually steer the car through the corner by controlling the drift. Now, I'm a lot older and a hell of a lot smarter (okay, maybe not smarter, but a much bigger chicken). Still, when you start to corner these rear engined cars with any furor bad things can happen, and once that back end comes too far around, it's gone.
