OK, I need some help here. Sharon and I had a ball in Paso last year and really liked meeting everyone and seeing the countryside. We want to come again this year but really don't want to be relegated to the back of the pack in a rented Pontiac (Ponty-ek, -eek) again. Is is really too far to drive our Speedy and a four day round trip hauling it on a trailer doesn't sound like fun. The answer is - we need to find someone who will rent us theirs for the show. Someone who can't make it to the show but wants their car shown! I will pay a handsome rental and guarantee gentle driving! Any takers?? Pleeeze! How about a rental fee PLUS a set of Luggage Straps? Let us know soon so we can make reservations at the hotel.

I'm coming to the gathering! I'm coming to the gathering! I'm coming to the gathering!!!!! I just talked to John at JPS Motorsports and he is bringing up a new creation of his and is kind enough to loan me his personal speedster. WOW ! Better look out folks because I will blind you with my big grin and Sharon will be the cute blonde standing back saying "What has he gotten us into THIS time?". See you there.
Ha! Sharon // cute blonde = understatement! And I've no doubt she's wondered what you're getting into many times before.

Ann and I are looking forward to seeing the two of you again this year. I can already hear the faint beginnings of the Twilight Zone theme music. For this year's magic, can you make Vince disappear?

Mark
Dusty -

Really glad to hear that you'll be joining us at Paso! Isn't it enough that you have a beautiful wife to grace your appearance, now you'll be driving a WAY COOL car to Paso - you'll be COOLNESS on an incomprehensible scale!

Join our Paso caravan in Malibu - a cruise along the coast will be a great break from the snow and cold in your neck of the woods! Looking forward to seeing you folks again.

Peace - Out!

Jim,
Give me details of the cruise from Malibu ... when, what time, where do we meet, etc. I have to get my timing (plane, pick up the car, hotels, etc arranged pretty quick ad I am leaving town next week for a short trip to San Diego and then too many other time-eating obligations when we get back. I would like to have all of my ducks in a row (or at least the same corral) before I leave.

(damn ducks are all trying to paddle in the snow !!!)

Dusty

Dusty, If you are asking for a map with times and stops it won't happen.. we typically leave Malibu motel no later than 10:00 Friday morning, so that we can be in Pismo Beach at a reasonable time for lunch (around 2:00) Some of us meet in the South Bay location at 8:00
others have other spots, from where you are in Hollywood, I imagine you to be coming north on the 101 then cut across thru Topanga or Malibu canyon to the PCH, I'm sure someone can direct you better thru that canyon area to the PCH, or better yet, get an Atlas.....
the valley cars come thru the canyon I do believe, which seems your best bet. once we leave the Malibu locations we stop when necessary for fuel/#1/#2 issues...

If you have the option arrive no later than Thursday sometime and be ready to go early Friday morning....

my group is not the only group from So Cal, but probably the largest
in number of cars together... We also will have a poker run along with all the normal fun associated with driving these little gems..
Gerd,
Grt drctns. I lik brevity! Gd Man!

Vince,
I like meeting at the Malibu motel. We can get in Thursday, no problem. Can you get me the phone for the motel and I will make reservations for thursday night. When we get closer perhaps we shold exchange some cell phone numbers? Atlas? I can't go anywhere without my GPS (Old Timer's disease, you know)

Pat,
Sorry I won't be joining the Pontiac show (NOT) but you can count on winning First Place in that division this year. Just to show my sympathies go out to you I will buy you a beer in Paso! Cheers!

Dusty
Dusty, Ah, I mean, MR Coolness....
The Malibu Ranch Motel is not open to out of towners...in fact it's not open to anyone, at least not of the 2 legged variety....
been closed as long as I can remember...but a great meeting place along the highway....Stay in Santa Monica vacinity, and you'll be about 10 minutes or so from the Malibu location...
my cell is 310 429-5838 for anyone who needs it.....
