Marty, I have to be honest -- if you're looking in that price range anyway, you might want to drop John Leader an e-mail.
John's car doesn't have all the fancy trim pieces and such on it that that one does, but it does have a great record of being well taken care of, a brilliant paint job and all of the vintage-race attributes you'd look for if you wanted to strip one of these things down to the basic, essential components.
It's a JPS Motorsports car, built in California, and would be absolutely worth the trip to go and have a look.
Last time I checked, it was still being advertised here in the classified section. If I understand correctly, he's interested in a more modern powerplant, so he's trying to buy a different kind of Speedster next.
The color is a marine blue, somewhere between aquamarine and forest green. If I didn't already have an 'Outlaw,' I'd have been on a plane as soon as I saw his car.
I'd have a look at his ad before pulling the trigger on something else.

Hi guys, I'm new to the site, and have also checked out this specific car in person (I live in Seattle and was in Portland this last summer). Its in great condition, and has been in NWICars inventory for over a year. Great fit and finish, and also no sales tax, but to tax and license the car in WA will cost a couple of $K. they've dropped the price from $24,995 to the current price, and I told them I'd give them $17K cash out the door, but they wouldn't budge so I walked away. I've decided to just buy new from the Factory, leaning towards a VS, but will make up my mind by spring. Mark (aka. Roman_33)
