i need information concerning the original exhaust / muffler

i need your help.

i got an old intermec. roadster and restore right now. it has a new exhaust system from magnaflow with a big central end pipe.

i want to change it to the original 2 pipe style.

can you please let me know the distance between the end pipes from an original muffler, as well es the dimensions of the 2 end pipes?

I don't have the dimensions of an original one since I'm a poser but I can tell you that one of the most "356 looking" exhaust systems for a VW engine is the Tri-Mil dual tailpipe (I think EMPI also just came out with a copycat but you know what they say about EMPI nowadays). The other alternative would be to buy a 356 sports muffler (such as a Dansk) and get it modified to fit a VW engine. If I'm not mistaken a forum owner here has a car that's equipped with such a unit.
