So I have only been here a short while, but I think I see a trend.

And that is... That you guys & gals are nuts. :)

But I have figured it out. These cars are so simple and basically care free (I luv that) that you all have lots of time to just sit back & be funny. No real need to be serious because these cars are all about the fun. And youz guys are fun (you know who you are).

Don't get me wrong tho' as I do also see plenty of detailed topics, but fortunately most are laced with some type of humor.

So consider me enlightened. Madness in the highest order, full speed ahead. Its darned refreshing.

Regarding Michael's "care free" observation- gentlemen, we have somehow hooked a guy who owns a large, modern, and respected independent European auto repair facility (I used to take my 540i). His shop (Kauth and Mayuer) has about 15 bays, and is the ONLY place to get a German car fixed in Central Illinois.

Compared to running down a problem with a 993, anything we've got going here is pretty minor.
Michael -

Pic #1 = SoCal SOC contingent during a weekend wine tour along Central California Coast. There was a wedding going on at the Fes Parker winery and the bride's uncle (Tom Irvine) make the critical mistake of stopping to talk with the SOC peanut gallery.

Pic #2 - I flew out to mingle with the East coast SOC contingent at the 2009 Kit Car Show in Carlisle, PA. SOC dress code for the day was Hawaiian shirts.

Pic #3 - I attended the 2008 Carlisle Show and my good SOC buddy, Leon Chupp, fabricated my hat to commemorate my other alias "Pineapple Head". Thanks to my intense white dude friend, Cory Drake, for the nome de plume.
