I think I am ready to get a JPS Coupe

Hi, I am a newbie on this forum, however, I have been reading postings for a while and I also learned here that JPS made a 356 coupe replica. I have visited John a few times, and ask him many questions which he graciously answered. Now I am ready to place my order to him, however, I would like to hear from the more experienced members over here what features should I definitely get now without busting the bank and what I can get later. Please don't suggest me to get a speedster as I always like a coupe better for my cars. Opinions and comments welcome

Work w/ John. His approach is: custom. Will make it the way you want it. You just get to decide if the $$ are worth it. For my time/$$ I'd get a large engine, the welded tube frame, IRS, disk brakes all around. If engine large enough, then you'd be wise to run w/ the stronger Pro-street tranny. But you need to speak to John about what is possible/plausible for the Coupe. And of course, each item means more $$. I will assume that any option you'd be able to have w/ a JPS Speedster, you can have w/ the Coupe -- might be wrong there. John elected not to put pop-out rear windows in the basic Coupe, and I think these would be a very nice addition. On the other hand, if you have A/C, maybe not such a big deal. I had orginal Coupes years ago -- no A/C of course -- and the pop-outs were very helpful. You can read here in SOC Forum about the German wool carpeting, and how it works when it gets wet: smells 'til dry. John has other options, so listen to what he has to say there. I am not sure what you really intend for this car, but my advice would be: get an engine that scoots. Easier now than later, although still very doable later.
