hi steve, i was thinking/remembering about fuel injection you were working on, how's
my memory? did you ever start/finish that part of your project? i've been gathering
parts and research and am mocking up throttle bodies using old carbs (webers) and
am going to coby cbperformance sys. and use their ecu (1990 chevy geo based) or
mega squirt. where do you stand? thanks for the info (if any).

Yes I used it many times in a bunch of different cars

Is basically a kit of electronic components taht you solder together or you ca buy assembled ones (parts are like 200 bucks) assembled ones go from 250 to 500

besides this you need hi-pressure fuel pump, injectors, map sensor, air temp sensor and coolant sensor (for coolant you place the sensor near the no. 3 cylinder)

it works great everytime, the only major modifications you would have to do to a vw type 1 engine is the fact that you need to have electronic injector bungs, wich you can integrate into the manifolds

Speaking of fuel injection. I was thinking, would an aftermarket 4-barrel style throttle barrel fuel injection system, bolted to a Jonny's Four Play four barrel intake, mounted on a nice big 1914 based stroker motor work?

I guess that the new systems are totally "stand-alone" with just a remote cpu that powers/monitors the injector. Fully programable to match the size and requirements of whatever engine their placed on, and the Four Play manifold is built right, scavenges well, and resists the puddling and such that usually plagues home-made intakes. MINE in particular ! ! !

Any thoughts? Time for the next step and fuel injection seems like the way. PLUS with the 4 barrel-style, if it doesn't work on the big bug mill, I can swap it to the MGB or Beetle panel. I won't be out the R&D money.

Thanks,

TC
