Hello, Been a lurker for a while and enjoy the site. I just bought a speedster from the son of a guy that passed away. I know very little about it. I would be interested in finding out what company made the kit. I still have quiet a bit of work to get it going but getting closer. It does have a 356 B engine that turns over. Got the brakes finished. Still looking for a few parts. Thanks, BobThree pics for ID

Probably will end up being a CMC (Classic Motor Carriages) out of Miami, FL. Closed doors in 1992 or so.  Check for a brown vinyl build manual.  CMC often sold a set of 6 gauges that aid "Vintage" on the face - they were a $325 option and had black or white face with black, brass or silver bezels.  CMC's came with a cast single piece aluminum engine lid grille often called a hibachi grill (but early IMs did too).  Early IMs often used 914 gauges - the original set of 3 with larger tach.  914 gauges are of course popular across all Speedsters though.  If it was provided with a hood handle or steering wheel it would have come with their crest "Classic Speedster."  Wide bodies had a chrome and gold wide spoked wheel option that was distinctive but not on yours obviously.  Front turn signals supplied by CMC were SigStat amber 18 wheeler clearance lights (plastic lenses).  The roll bar depending on mounting may be a CMC piece indicator too. CMC supplied a gold id plate too - but often it was not installed.

We're waiting for photo of the dash so further tie maker down.  If you can't find the build manual it boxes of parts there is one in LIBRARY available to donating members.  Even if it proves not FF/CMC it is helpful reference material.

Alan gave me some good guidance in writing a TO DO list and crossing off items to mark progress.

Check any off lately?
