Any Ideas what this speedster is based on looking at the frame? This is label on the steering rack is the only sticker or plate I can find. The frame is completely square tube. It's extremely professional looking. Previous owner knew nothing about the origin. The body itself looks to be even thickness hand laid fiberglass, not out of the Vintage molds. Steering rack looks to be from an early 80's VW.

Hi Theron - my CMC body/kit was purchased in '87 and it's tube frame came from Tubular Metalcraft Products Frame out of Romulus, MI in '87 also. Mine has early '80's VW Rabbit steering. That might be what it is. Not dead certain. - Dave Bayne

For what it's worth, my steering is solid. I'm running 225x15 tires all around with 8" Fuchs on the rear and 7" Fuchs up front. My car's stance is pretty low and she corners on a rail and handles like a go kart. The frame and suspension is solid as a rock at 70 or 80 mph. The frame doesn't twist at all. FYI
Yup, that's a Metalcraft frame. I have a CMC-metalcraft myself. Make sure all suspension heim joints are greased regularly. I had a rear diagonal arm pivot fail from a seized joint. Fortunately I was almost stopped at the time.
