Hi All,

I would like some help identifying a speedster I am Considering purchasing. Pictures of this speedster are in the files section on this website under unknown speedster. Any help identifying this speedster would be greatily appreciated. Also is an asking price of $8500 reasonable?

Thanks

I'm looking at the dash pad and guessing it is a CMC (Classic Motor Carriges). Here's another "guess" point. I own two CMCs. Under the dash is there a square cross over tube that goes between the square upright tubes coming up from the pan. Both my CMCs have the cross beam going between the two uprights behind the dash. A friend's FiberFab Speedster does not have the cross over tube, but has the same style padding on the dash.

My old as the dickens IM doesn't have the kick panel heater vents either; heat, such as it is, comes out the defrost vents on the dash. I suspect whomever installed the newish carpeting at some point simply covered over the lower heat vents, which I will soon rectify.

As has been posted before, re older cars Intermeccanica has their name on the engine lid hinges, that is another way to narrow down the lineage.
Roger that, Jack. I suspect the holes are there but were covered with carpet. If IM didn't add foot vents in the early days I will either cut the hole myself or else use the slide vents for appearance.

Whenever possible I try to buy Speedster parts from John Steele figuring Tweeks, et al, aren't part of the replica family, in a manner of speaking.
MY 2000 Vintage Speedster also has a square cross pipe behind the dash, IF I remember correctly Kirk Duncan Bought out Ryan Speedster's when they folded, and Ryan Speedsters were re-hashed CMC's Does this sound about right? Can anyone confirm this? Because After all the trouble I had with the rear susencion and geting wheels that would fit,I have been very curious, and more.Of course with the help of George , Ron ,Jack And Henry of IM ,it worked out fine But I am still curious.

Opp.s forgot Eric and John

The heater holes on my car where also to far forward, and look like they were cut with a cutting tourch, I welded them up and moved them. Now I more convenced this is a early CMC cab even though It was sold to me ,By VS. what size are the heat intry pipes at the back,of the car Mine are 1 and 1/2 inch around, about a foot long..
