Some of you have Ididit columns in your cars.
The first vehicle has 3 straight 6 engines linked together with chains.
I included a '49 Buick for Bruce.

Very nice Buick Michael ! 1949 Buick Special, 25 grill bars and a Fireball straight 8 cyl engine ! Stromberg 2bbl carb. Two heaters in the cab, one under the dash and under the seat. That back seat area was Toasty in the winter !
The color is very reminiscent of what they , back then, called Maroon. Because I was young and soaking up information, Maroon became my guide post for that color for life ! We had a Buick in that color for a short time. My father probably sold it. I liked the color. Funny what one photo can trigger in your memories !......Thanks Mike !
@Michael McKelvey Thanks for sharing those cool pics!
Mike, I'm in love with that Buick as well. Just gorgeous! That, and the red Jag XK140 (150?) coupe with the V8 are my two favorites.
I really liked the Jag 150 as well.
I should have taken pictures of the interior.
Me Too on the Jag ! I always wanted to do a Mark II , 4 door sedan like that red Jag. The older Jag's just have some nice lines styled into car body panels that just look good. Mostly anything , say, pre-XKE. Then came those.........
I used to think about a Mark II with a Chevy V8. There was someone in Wisconsin doing the conversion.
I'm thinking about one right now. Used to be you could pick those saloons up pretty cheap. Pop the 350 in and make it a classy daily driver, plus have a Jag motor (and 4-speed?) to play with for a different project.
I hope you do it.
Just for Kicks I thought I would use a 300CID Ford 6 cylinder hooked up to a C-6 trans.
The 12 port head would do nicely with triple Weber DCNH's and a nice set of headers.
Perhaps a blower on top of it all ?..........Bruce
A lot can be done with those old L6s—Chebby, Ford and Mopar slants. Even the earlier, four main bearing ones could make 500 hp with a few bolt-ons.
Well, quite a few bolt-ons....
I helped out the Speed Nymph Team for a few years at Bonneville. They ran a twin turbo L6 Ryan Falconer engine, 259 ci, 1300 HP, top speed 334.260mph. The car was capable of over 350mph but the salt was to wet the last few year we ran before retiring the car.
Earlier they ran a Belly Tank car also with an L6 engine 800 hp on alcohol.
I spent the half-hour watching that, Ed.
Those NC engine shops are playing the game on a completely different plane.
The pure silliness of it is inspiring! They are brothers to us.
