IDIDIT is about 25 miles from me. I think some of you have their parts in your cars.

This was the first car show I have been to that had a pancake breakfast, although I didn't arrive early enough to partake.

The only thing that could have been better was that they gave me a tee shirt 3 sizes too big.

Avantis are great cars.  I love the wing shaped switches in the console and above like a airplane. They have an umbrella brake like we do. The auto transmission is clunk clunk clunk, no hesitation. Bright interior colors.

I have to admit that Avanti IIs are better cars, but the original is so under-appreciated.  Somehow using Chevy engine and tranny was like a capitulation.

The original was supercharged fast, stylish, modern.  One of the original “plastic fantastics”!  Super thick fiberglass. I wish I had one!

Musbjim.......I could see you in a 50 mercy ! Chopped top, 54 Pontiac floating grill bar, frenched head lights, Lincoln tail lights, no door handles, shaved nose and deck and all Black !......Very cool car !   Back then, I had a 34 Ford two-door sedan,  channeled 14",   41 Chevy tail lights,  Polished aluminum "Tornado" head light brackets supporting chrome bullet lights,  SW gauges over the wind shield and a 283 Chevy with twin 4bbl carbs. adapted to Zephyr trans and so on.

Michael.....Thanks for posting the Buick.  A Buick is on my bucket list...........Bruce

Of note: those engines made 223 lb-ft at 2400  RPM in the Corvette. The overbore & intakes on the truck units ought to pull them at least even with the later 250s, which were rated at 235. Times three that's...uh... pretty respectable, imho.

Also: big ups for the way he tilted the blocks but shimmed the intakes to make the carb tops level.
