Sorry - it posted before I finished my comments.
The red light on the lower left of the VDO tachometer is on. According to the IM instructions, this light is not hooked to anything. Drove the car all day yesterday and light was not on. The light on the lower right is the parking brake light, it is not on. The middle green light is the blinker and flaashers.
The oil pressure and alternator lights are on the combo guage.
Anyone know if IM actually does connect anything to that light/ switch on the Tachometer. Why that light would be on? It is a very well equipped 2003 IM, heater, A/C, etc...

Are you sure that's not the alternator/charging warning light?

Thanks for responding. I checked the written instructions from IM, and the alternator light is on the combo guage.
However embarrasing, my wife got in the car, started it and the light was still on, then she asked me where the E brake was, I showed her, then she took it off, the light went off...duh...I guess I didn't push it all of the way down on the floor. Oops. The Im instructions said that was the light on the bottom right of the tach, not the left...oh well.
George, you may know something about this car, I just got it from Brian H. in South Carolina. It looks great and runs just as well.

A lot of us saw Brian's car at Carlisle last year - Brian let Henry borrow it to use as eye candy at the show (and eye candy it was!!).
Glad you're enjoying a truly nice automobile.....

For what it's worth my E brake light is on the left and you have to make sure that the brake is on the floor or the light will stay on.

Thanks for the comments. It is a beautiful car. The e-brake light is on the left and the handle pretty much has to be on the floor before it goes out. Problem is solved.
Bob: You bringing her back to Carlisle this year?

I've been trying to get it on the schedule. Haven't been able to get the weekend cleared yet, but I'm trying. I'm going to work on it this week. I would certainly like to get names, faces and cars matched up.
If you can make it you might be able to hook up with a couple of guys driving from the south - Peter McEwan from South Carolina and John Hallstrand from Tennessee.

I'm supposed to meet up will John Hallastrand on Saturday. He is taking the Subytub out for a Interstate test. Then he is going to Knotts...now your saying he is going to Carlisle also? Wow..is he going for a mileage record??? If I can make Carlisle, I am worried about the weather issue. Even though IM Speedsters have roll up windows, I can see that there are plenty of places for the rain to come in...is that the same with your car?
Bob:
It is an unfortunate malady of pretty much ALL the Speedsters out there that they all leak - somewhere. Around the windshield, around the side windows (not all of us have the luxury of roll-up side windows!!), at the seams where the body meets the pan, around the doors, through various holes for wire and tubing conduits, you name it. That's not to say that they ALL leak in ALL these places, I'm just mentioning the obvious places people have mentioned on the forum. We all worried about bad weather last year (Carlisle is notorious for it) but we ended up with about the best weekend in all of May 2004!!
Generally, the IM's are more watertight than others, so I would be more than willing to head on out in foul weather with yours. If Brian didn't include a water repellant car cover with it, then that might be a good investment, especially for at the hotel (a lot of others had them last year) - it's good for security, too, although that wasn't an issue last year at all.
Put a few more miles on your car zipping around the greater Alpharetta area before heading for Carlisle. It would be nice to see a couple thousand miles or more on it before doing an extended turnpike trip at speed with it, but I believe Henry pretty much breaks his cars in before delivery so doing more miles might be moot.
Good luck with the new car, and think seriously about joining us in Carlisle!! John is a great guy to travel with, and, if you can hook up with Peter McEwan from Beaufort, SC, he's tops, too!
