Here's one in the Boston area on Craigslist:

The blurb:  "The guy is working on the car -- engine and transaxle rebuilt, car is in primer, etc.  He is moving from Duxbury and would like to trade for a running Speedster Replicar.  I'm not very interested, but thought you may know someone who might be interested in trading their replicar for a 'real' Porsche.  Go to Boston Craig List, cars for sale, Porsche 356 & take a look."

I wish I had photos of that red wide body with the gold bbs basketweaves.

So this guy is basically saying: Trade me your high end running and driving replica, plus cash for a very expensive project. There is no mention of the conditionof the body (metal work needed?), the interior, brakes, electrical, etc. The cost to finish that project has no end in sight. Note there aren't any photos of the rest of the project. No mention of who is picking up the tab on the trans or the paint work. Assume that's going to be the new owner.

If you ask me, the only trade that makes sense IS the ham and egg, shade tree kit car with 20" wheels... and no cash.

Just my observations and opinions.

Ah, well......I'm only the messenger here........  A "C" coupe might be a nice project, though.

I also find it interesting that when Pete Venuti brings his IM, or Len Cannizzarro (not a member here) drives his VS to a local Porsche get together, either nobody notices, or it takes a long time for anyone to notice, that they're replicas.

I guess some replicas look more "replica" than others.  My flared mild outlaw stands out a bit, but I have had people ask me if my added fender flares are metal or fiberglass.

Based on your build projects, I bet you could turn that 356 into a bad-a$$ ride though!

Ted is your steering wheel from Pep Boys too? I'm still looking for something with 22" rims. The guy advertising the 356 C has obvious poor taste. Apparently he has never ridden in a 356 with 22" rims.

I run 20's... but I keep 'em clean.

I'm not usually one to like a fat chick in a thong, but the red one Art posted calls to me; I guess the Cal Look in me is diggin' the nerf bars and removed side trim and hood handle...

Needs wider rear rubber and a slight curve in the top of the roll bar.

And Mitch, that is just wrong in oh so many ways!
