I was looking at Georges extra hood and trunk locks.

I was wondering if Henry could do a one Key fits all type setup. I did do this to mine.(even the locking stant gas cap). But I decided to just hide the release mecanisums You'll just have to guess, Im not tellin.
AND yes a shield over the engine lid latch bolt, you may get he grill off, but that's all.

What kinda neighborhood you live in? Seriously, at kit car shows, in the Cobra section, I always ask the female companion if the driver ever takes her to fancy restaurant. Most of the time the answer is the same, the owner will not leave the vehicle unattended and out of sight. Hence, fast food! Then I ask her how often she has been asked to watch the car while he goes into a store. She rolls her eyes and starts laughing, having found someone who understands her role in the kit car universe. About then the owner gets real perturbed, so I leave.
An alternate line of questioning involves the lone female, sitting alone guarding the car. I ask her if the owner asked her to "stay with the car" while he walks around enjoying the rest of the show. Made some interesting friends this way.
In the past 2 years the Hispanic population in my hometown has tripled.. and Im afraid to say it's not a change for the better.

I have no personal dislike of the folks, But I can not disreguard what I see.
Hec I wont even drive my El camino to work at night anymore, there have so many breakins, and vandelisum it,s not funny. I just drive a clunker to work. Until things change, or I move

I have not been to a event in years. If I do go we try to find friends near the show and team up. and that don't happen very offen.
I'll touch,
hispanic, white, black, ugly, good looking, whatever.
what i've found is "most" people suck. I did say "most".
But really, what i have found is todays people don't respect
common sense limitations, don't touch whats not yours,
ask first before taking etc...People today are afraid of just
telling people "whats what" and most are afraid to get involved.
can you tell i'm not a liberal?
Not for nothing but quite a few people in this forum are from
"the land of fruit+nuts" [boy, i hope you can take a joke] and
I would think you would be more understanding of a persons
social graces [ read:lack of], maybe a social program or two
could be put in place [at tax payer expense of course]to
educate this group of car offenders, that you put a lot of
time, effort, and money into your cars and they are to be looked at
and not touched. just an idea, maybe a CA can vote on it.

The Hispanic comments have to be a joke. If they aren't, I feel sorry for you, dude. But hey, I'm Italian, so I'm sure if "my people" moved into your neck of the hood, with our greasy skin and all, your poor El Camino would probably skid all over due to all the grease we leave behind. There's good & bad in everyone, I think your perception is based on all the Cheech & Chong movies you watched over the years. Keep moving, maybe you'll find the "perfect" neighborhood.
Bruce,

Your comments seem to put the blame on the perp's but don't you think that parents should shoulder some of the blame also. So many single parents tryuing to raise kids and hold a job down at the same time cause many of these problems. The one parent is so distracted with the resposibilities they probaly instill little disipline to the kids. The kids peer group have little disipline either. Parents tend to let the teachers and school apply the rules, wrong! Then the teachers are so afraid to disipline them because of litgation they throw their hands up also. Not a uniquely Hispanic problem, same thing all over this country, even in the Anglo towns in rural America.

My 2 cents, Bruce
I live in San Jose. With one of the largest hispanic populations in the country. It's also the safest big city in the country. It's definetly a new generation of kids which have no parental guidance whatsoever. Oh, and I'm not speaking about "this new generation". I'm speaking about MY generation. I remember being in high school and thinking, "my god, how many gas station attendants are we going to need?"

That's what I was looking for. jerks are jerks. Color, race religion, national origen have never been a determiner of jerks. Sadly becouse of economic conditions there are times that jerks congregate into certain communities, and pressure decent lawful prople into moving out, for their own safety.
It's always been amazing to me, the general decency, and respect for property that "Car Guys Have. And the comaradarie they share. I remember when racing Bonneville cars, that I coudn't get the jetting right on the Hilborn injectors......over walks the tuner and owner of the "World fastest Street Rod" ( this guy consistently does the course in over 300 mph)and says "For a 6pack I'll set up your injectors" He spent 4 hours whupping the car into top shape for just a handshake and 6 cans of beer. ( Boy that almost smacked of a GB tale)

I am not at all against any race. This was small town and it was in no way prepaired for the overwelming infow of people. Jobs have dried up,decent work is not to be found. and know everyone is suffering. I dont wish to leave. I was born and raised up here. But yes respect for others and there property is in a decline here. It makes me miss the way it use to be so many years ago, you didn.t even lock your doors at nite.
