A Marine ignition switch has a longer threaded shaft. ~Alan
Or you can get behind the dash and carefully counter sink the back of the panel to allow a standard switch to fit.

this is the one i use. It does use screw terminals. I had a terminal come loose and me and fry the switch. It looks and feels the part.

I did this method once. MGTD walnut dash that I had spend 12 hours hand finishing to a high luster only to have the wood bit catch and go right through the front of the dash. (Walnut burns nicely in the fireplace) ~Alan

I'm not sure I agree that there's no such thing as bad wood. Can be kinda embarrassing when you're giving a presentation to a room full of people. I'm just sayin'...

JPS apparantly installed marine ignition switches as a normal course of busines when I got my speedy. One day I went shopping for a spare key. After visiting about half a dozen key shops without even locating a blank, one retired sailer suggested I try the local marina. Sure enough, they had the necessary blank to cut for my spare key.
