       Kettle Moraine has some awesome roads.

Chris, while I like that idea, me thinks you flat landers would rather stay a little closer to home. Perhaps we can put the Wisconsin thing off until Spring ( damn, we're talking about Spring already!). Don't know much about the Rock River area, but that would probably be a little closer for me. Our soon to be new member, Jim Anderson, has expressed some interest. He will be picking up Leon Chupp's car and calling it his this upcoming weekend, if all goes as planned according to what I know. Jim is a staunch Badger fan and states he goes to all home Badger games. We'll need to take a lok at that schedule perhaps.  I'll normally go with the flow if I can.

Marty, Stan, Joe F., Tom, Joe S., (who'd I miss, maybe Allan Shapiro) where you guys be?

       The original plan was a "day Drive":   So here goes?

Why don't we meet early,  8:30 am at the small terminal for the Rockford Airport.

We can follow Hwy 2 down the Rock River until approaching Sterling IL.   and then head over to the Mississippi River near Clinton...  And then up North through Savanna etc.     Perhaps all the way to Galena (If we make good time)  for Dinner.

           The extreme Northwest corner of IL.  looks more the New England than the Midwest.

 

Anyway:   I think this is what I'm going to do regardless...   So I don't mind tailoring the drive to suit anyone else that wants to show up as well.

Chris, what day?

I think the guys and gals on the west coast have enviable, comfortable, cruising agendas...well worth emulating.

They gather at some point and then leisurely cruise an hour or so to a winery...sampling offerings and prepping themselves for another hour or so on the road to wind up gathered for a laid back long brunch,... socializing, BS'ing and photo taking...then, all warn and fuzzy, calling it a day and scattering for home.

I was thinking Sat. Sept 13th?     8:30 AM at the Rockford Airport Terminal.

 

Lisa and I were even thinking about staying Sat. night in the Galena area.

 

I have nothing planned for the following Sat. also?

Well... I just saw this thread. I might be able to swing by if the weather cooperates. Since we might be leaving the mid-west by the end of the year it would be a shame not to cruise with you guys at least once 

 

Jim, we'll need to plan something sometime next year once we settle back in Cali
