Ive been back and forth with this over the last year or so. Im formally listing my IM 6 (La Bomba) to those in the know, for sale with Henry on his website. Its a 3.2liter/915 limited slip/911 suspension/brake combo that Henry built, which was deliverd in Jan 08. I now have 10k miles, Its in great condition with NO mechanical/ cosmetic issues. My asking price is 72,500 usd. I love the car, but I have an itch that needs scatching and Madeline says you can't keeping stacking toys in the garage. Soooo, if anyone knows a potential buyer of this fine beast, let me know. I'm finally "ready" to find this car a new home........I think

Cory, I appreciate your concern and will NOT be buying a Ferrari. But I am looking into a GT3, late model P car or a Turbo. I always have mixed feelimgs because Henry and I sweated the details on La Bomba. It was such a great trip building the thing. I get a kick out of Marty's thread because I KNOW exactly how he feels. Who knows, but it wont preclude me from Carlisle to see old friends, no matter what my ride is.
Howie,
Moving on to bigger and better things,eh? My brother is selling his Turbo"S" if you are interested. I can send you photo's if you like. It is a 2011 with less than 2000 miles on it. He has emerging medical issues that preclude him from being able to enjoy the car. It is all relative. He has close to 200K into the car,and would be willing to talk if it is a serious inquiry. You know how to get in touch with me.
This is the conundrum! I love looking at, it driving it, answering questions about it from strangers, having something different than the next guy. I saw the movie Wild Hogs the other day, and when Tim Allen is asked by the Chief Biker, you must be a 'POSER' ENT specialist or worse, an orthodontist!, I cringe and say that cant be me. Im much better looking than ALLEN is! But life moves on, and this is a fun hobby, cars, bikes and good friends that you meet along the way. Thank God theres no vaccine against crooked teeth!
Actually, the more recent Ferrari's are pretty dang good cars. When I say "good car" I mean in the sense that you can actually drive them and trust that they will get you there. It's like someone sent the Italians to a German training camp or something - LOL!

By the way, for those of us deep with wishes but shallow of pocket, today is Saturday, so let's all go buy a lottery ticket!

Wait...never mind. You guys don't need to do that. I'll buy the tickets ;-)

Howard, it's hard to believe that it's been around 5 years since I watched your IM build. Too bad you never made it out to one of the PCA concours on Long Island so I could see it in person. I entered my first concours last fall with my 2001 911 (which now still has just 7200 miles on it) and won second place in my class. I've had my car now for almost 11 years, with no plans to replace it anytime soon. Since I drive it so rarely, each time I start it seems like a novelty to me. Good luck with the new ride, whatever that may be.
Doc, Howard---that car is truly one of a kind---a fresh 911 engine, that rare color like an orchid and the overall fit and finish if an IM---nothing like it.

I know it will find a good home but happy to hear that you will still hang out periodically with this bunch of knuckleheads.

I'd make up a nice sign and price it at about 80 large and sell it at the Carlisle show. At least that way we have a shot at having someone who already appreciates Carlisle take over that ride.

--Looking forward to spending some time with you at Carlisle!
