I'm about 98% sure that all 911/912 tachs are the same size, even the old 3 guage 912 tachs.

I know you need to be 100% - so follow through because the chinese/brazil, etc., tachs are bigger than the VDO's. Not sure what Henry is using, wouldn't surprise me if he used 911 guages and just had them refaced.

If you don't mind waiting a couple of days, I've got an SWB (can't remember if it's a 67 or 68) car at the shop. I can measure/compare to the SC's I've got. That would definately answer at least that part of the question.

911 tach dated 9-71. 114mm O.D., to outside of bezel(black, so is not the real early chrome style) looks like 120mm, the factory gasket looks about 2mm. If you use the gasket, your hole should be about 117-118mm, without gasket I'd leave it at 114mm. FYI, 911 gauges rely on the gasket to hold them in the dash, no brackets and thumbscrews like on our replica VDOs.....my long wheelbase gauge should be the same as Angela's SC stuff though.
It is, I measured them yesterday along with the tach from a '66 3 guage 912. The 81 SC, the 85 Carrera and the '66 912. The '66 did have a thicker bezel, but the backside was the same (the part that goes THROUGH the dashboard). All 3 use the same gasket.

They are all the same 114mm.
