MaRtY:
By now, I'm sure that somewhere you've seen Pearl's car hauler - dual tandem wheel, open deck, variable electric brakes, super rugged, (super heavy) all that stuff. I put well over 15,000 miles on it hauling all over the place and loved it. Really sad to see it go (it was like brand new when it left) but totally didn't need it any more but, still......I was very used to it and knew how it would handle (which was always predictable and sweet).
When we left South Carolina, we brought Kathy's "Southern Car" up here - a Ford Taurus HO - and traded it in on her Outback AWD. We used a rented Penske car dolly to move it - first time I ever used one. Totally good experience. Fully adjustable for car track width and car height (it also had little, stow-able ramps to use if the loading car was super-low) and, once the car was loaded and secured you really didn't know it was back there.....Very civilized towing experience. Tens of thousands of RV owners use a dolly and most of them have Far less towing experience than me and they do just fine - so will you, and it's somewhat cheaper and lighter than a full trailer.
HOWEVER!!!!!!! (Yeah, I know.....There's always a "however"....) Getting the front of the car up on the dolly means that the rear of the car will be somewhat low. Because my 'Basket-of-snakes' exhaust hangs kind of low back there, it might not have much clearance if I tried to dolly-tow it, but I simply don't know - I always trailered Pearl.
You could always go to a dolly place, tell them your concerns and see if they would let you try loading Cafe Maraschino and see how it looks - might be fine. If it is, then a Dolly might be the thing for you.
