Might be able to be imported to the usa or is it 25 years? bef0re you can ?
Canada is 15 years, USA is 25 years
And yet August Motorcars in Kelowna, BC, Canada continues to import new replicas and sell them with impunity. The Federal Gov't knows this and still does nothing. I'm not sure how they get the cars into the country.
I agree and also some in Toronto. Somehow they are lending a blind eye to it so there is some stick handling going on. See how I made a Canadian joke out of it.
P.S @David Stroud IM Roadster D might have a quickjack for sale David.. your close
$2000 for German square weave carpets, $1000 for chrome luggage rack, $20,000 for transmission? This car was built in 2007. My Cabriolet with A Subaru engine and AUTOMATIC transmission, real leather interior, German square weave carpets, A/C, dash mounted radio and was built in 2008 for $36,000 USD. I understand today's asking price but come on, really. $39,500 for parts that don't include the body, tires, and labor charges plus IM's profit. Is that Canadian dollars or US?
Canadian $ and the guy is Elastic in his prices for sure.
It's a nice IM, but I don't see $69,950 there. The automatic transmission appeals to a very small market niche; but even with a stick, that price is a reach.
I remember that car when Henri built it … personally I never Liked the automatic versions, but hey you know what the client wants ..he gets.
I find the pricing crazy at times for 30-year-old Canadian IM that require a complete facelift.
I shutter to think when all the snowbirds get rid of their accumulated toys, what the market will do…
Seinfeld was ahead of the curve ….
Well said, Ray.
I have a plan for my IM6.
There's a ready in place claim for my Roadster too.

Me too. I'm going to enjoy it for the rest of my life and let my estate deal with it when I'm gone.

Me too. My son is going to get it when I'm too feeble to drive it.
This coming Sunday we are doing a fun rally together in it.
I won't wait that long.
I intend to own very little when my time comes.

Well said. The trick is to know when it's your time.
Or at least accept it when it jumps out at you…..

Well if you try to bring a suitcase of gold over, I mean, they won’t let you in when you try to bring road building material, with too many impurities.
This is getting a bit morbid

They're just using the chassis VIN and know someone friendly/bribed at the border for sure.

Few of us will.
The number of old timers that recognize/agree with virtually everyone else thinking/telling them it's time to hang up the keys is 100 to 1. We all think we're just fine and don't notice the slow decline.
For me, it was my Mother asking me to take a drive with my Dad and "see what I thought" ....
Everybody does this differently, but I’ve never understood the fixation on selling everything because you get old.
I’m the executor of Dad’s estate, and liquidating your parent’s assets is not that hard. Even if it was, so what? I never worked for it.
I intend to enjoy the stuff I worked to acquire for as long as I want it. My kids are getting free money. It won’t kill them to deal with keeping or liquidating your things. It’s 100% gravy to them.
Almost nobody times out getting rid of their own stuff perfectly. It’s always too soon or too late.
Maybe they want a final world cruise… before they check out on the carousel…think of where I live.

Thats the real trick Bob! Some of us will not see it coming. Other will get a hint when your checkup comes back with bad news. The truth is no one gets out alive !! I know for me there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is getting brighter as the years go by. Whenever is happens I hope its quick and not a painful drawn out ordeal. If it is, I have orders to just shoot me. As for getting ready for that day or trying to prepare for the inevitable, I have better things to do. Like enjoy each day like it was my last ........ I have no doubt that the orders in the "Trust" will be carried out and things will go to where they are suppose to. I might add to this drift that I love the color on the IM, just not an automatic kinda guy in a speedster.
FYI - knowing when your time comes...
Statistics show that in 2023, heart disease was the leading cause of deaths in the United States, with 680,090 deaths.
In 80% of those cases, the first symptom of heart disease was...'Sudden Death'.
Enjoy each & every day as a gift. Just saying...

Amen, Nolan. I've certainly begun to feel that.
